Archaeological Sites in Larnaca

The archaeological site of Choirokoitia stands as an exceptionally well-preserved Neolithic Age settlement, earning its rightful place as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. Throughout the settlement, one can find remains from various stages of the Neolithic Age, offering valuable insights into the ancient living conditions of the region and the widespread influence of Neolithic culture across the area.

The settlement of Tenta, belonging to the Neolithic Age, can be found not far from Kalavasos village, with its origins dating back to 7000 BC. As one of the most notable Neolithic settlements on the island, it features a distinct cone-shaped roof, representing a modern architectural addition to the landscape.

The ancient city-kingdom of Kition's architectural ruins offer compelling evidence of the Mycenaean Achaeans' presence in Larnaka (Larnaca) during the 13th to 11th century BC, followed by the Phoenicians' settlement in the 9th century BC.
