Museums with Free Entrance

The Cultural Centre of Occupied Ammochostos (Famagusta) was established with the purpose of hosting regular presentations and briefings related to the enduring 'Cyprus Problem' - the division of the island resulting from the Turkish invasion of 1974. Visitors can access binoculars to observe the occupied city of Ammochostos and explore a small photographic exhibition as well.

The Ecclesiastical Museum, situated in the chapel of Saint George within Sotira village, displays a collection of significant religious artifacts. Among them are sacred icons, including a 15th-century portrayal of Jesus Christ, old Gospels, liturgical books, crosses, liturgical vessels, and other valuable items. Additionally, the museum is home to one of Cyprus's only three remaining portable wooden altars from the 16th century.

Located to the west of Agia Napa, the Tombs of Makronissos comprise 19 rock-cut tombs, a small sanctuary, and an ancient quarry. The sanctuary itself is a modest rectangular enclosure, constructed from large, irregular blocks. These tombs were actively used during the Hellenistic and Roman eras. Despite facing extensive looting since 1872, archaeologists hold the belief that the deceased were originally placed in clay sarcophagi, covered with three flat tiles.

Situated within the confines of Paralimni's municipal property, the Paralimni Folkloric Museum is housed in a charming 19th-century residence. Here, a remarkable collection of Cypriot art, along with various everyday tools and implements, vividly portrays the rural lifestyle of the area's past inhabitants.
