The State Gallery of Contemporary Cypriot Art houses the State Collection of Contemporary Cypriot Art on a permanent basis. The Gallery maintains an archive of artists, which includes their biographical and bibliographical information, a slide archive, and a photo archive. It also operates an art library that is enriched each year with publications on art history and theory, catalogs of major international art exhibitions, monographs of significant historical and contemporary artists, and more.

With the anticipated development of the SPΕL Building (Amochostou Street), this building will serve as an extension of the State Gallery of Contemporary Cypriot Art.

Following a decision by the Council of Ministers, the SPΕL Building in Old Nicosia will be renovated to function as an annex of the existing State Gallery of Contemporary Cypriot Art on Stasinou Street. The SPΕL Building will host contemporary artworks from the State Collection, starting from the 1950s and onwards, including works that employ non-conventional and new media.
